MindSense Centre of Psychiatry is a leading Australian provider of highly specialised occupational mental health services, with a strong focus on complex independent medical assessments, education, research and consulting.

Why MindSense?

Our services

Complex independent medical assessments

MindSense psychiatrists have the expertise and experience to complete thorough and robust independent assessments of the most complex psychiatric cases.

Our customers benefit from fast and simple access to over 80 highly regarded psychiatrists located across Australia via Medilaw Group.

The depth of knowledge of this consulting team allows us to make the critical match between case and psychiatrist.

It also means we can support our customers as they manage rising psychological injury claims and emerging Covid-related issues.

Institutional abuse assessments

We have a select panel of experienced psychiatrists who specialise in assessing historical and institutional abuse matters for both civil proceedings and the Federal Government’s National Redress Scheme.

These abuse matters include:

  • Historical sexual abuse
  • Emotional abuse
  • Physical abuse
  • Institutional abuse
  • Other secondary conditions

Our customers also gain access to webinar educational material related specifically to institutional abuse, available for on-demand viewing.

Out-of-hours support

MindSense offers telehealth assessment services outside standard business hours, no matter where you are in Australia.

Telehealth assessments provide a flexible yet robust service and are ideal for complex psychiatric cases. Traditional barriers to attendance are removed (such as travel and crowds), and claimants are able to attend assessments from the comfort and security of their home (to avoid exacerbating symptoms).

Importantly, bookings are made without delay, with the same wide choice of consultants. Adding telehealth to our in-person service offering has seen appointment availability increase by 28% over the past two years, to in excess of 7,500 available appointments.

MindSense acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which we live and work, and pays respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
